Blaine brought his books over to the table and smiled over at his friend. He and David had agreed to meet at the library and had claimed a small table in the corner to study.

They couldn't really have a conversation, but there was some quiet discussion and they helped each other figure out their work.

Other students are always welcome to join them, as are any teachers looking to check up on their process.

David had been thinking for a while about what movie he should pick to watch with Blaine, and eventually he settled on Sabrina. (The original one. You can't beat Humphrey Bogart.) So Saturday night, he made his way to Blaine's room, tapping lightly on his door, DVD in hand.

David had never in his life spoken to a teacher the way he spoke to Kalvin on Saturday. (Granted, no teacher had ever spoken to him the way Kalvin had either, but that was beside the point.) He felt awful, and he found Kalvin's class on Monday to be one of the most awkward experiences of his life.

He waited, though, until after school to try and fix things, not wanting other students around or to have to rush things to get to his next class. Once he was finished for the day, he went to Kalvin's office, tapping lightly on the door frame.

"Sir?"

It was a gorgeous day (by David's standards), and he really just needed to get off campus for a while, so he's made his way into town to see what's there. He also really needed to get a job, so he was looking around for anything like the sort of bookshop he was used to working in. He'd picked up a few applications to various places now, and he rather thought he deserved a break, so he found a little coffee shop to get a drink and a snack.

When he got to the front of the line, he asked the question he was beginning to think was hopeless. "How do you brew your tea?"

April Fool's Day was a great day of mischief and japery, and while Kalvin would hardly consider himself a prankster, he could never, ever pass up an occasion to stir up a few laughs.

So that was how he found himself sprawled out on the floor of the library, dressed up just enough to be identifiable as a teacher (slacks instead of jeans, a plain black tank top, his hair slicked back and minimum make-up). A step-ladder lay toppled over at his feet, books from the top-shelf scattered willy-nilly all over the floor, part of a pen stuck to his forehead with fake blood dripping down the side of his face.

Needless to say, it wouldn't be a stretch to call his sense of humor a touch on the morbid side. Poke him and see what happens?

As it was nearly two weeks into the new term, naturally Remus had some grading to do. It was, perhaps, his least favorite part of teaching, though he did quite enjoy the rare moments when he got an essay to read that was actually interesting and well-written. It almost made up for all the rest that felt like they were determined to sap his will to live.

This particular Saturday found him at a corner booth in the cafe he lived above, with a stack of essays to one side and a cup of coffee to the other, frowning thoughtfully down at the paper in front of him and making occasion remarks, both written and verbal, as he read through it.

"Not quite," he muttered to himself, "but you're nearly there..."

Anyone expecting the tattoo'd hooligan from the week before to slouch into the Brit Lit classroom would be sorely mistaken. No, the man who waltzed in was neatly pressed, dressed in the appropriate school attire with his hair slicked back, and not a trace of a piercing or make-up on his face. True to his previous assertions, Kalvin Gottfried did, in fact, clean up nice.

"Hello class," he chirped, walking up to the whiteboard and grabbing the blue marker, writing his name and British Literature. When he finished, he turned and clasped his hands in front of his chest, smiling out at the class. "It's so good to see your smiling, eager faces! I'm Kalvin Gottfried, welcome to Brit Lit! If that is not the class you thought it was, feel free to get up and go now."

"That is not, however," he added, picking up a stack of papers and moving to pass them to the student sitting in the the first desk of the front row. "Permission to pretend this is not your class and walk out anyway. We do have to take attendance, after all! Which is what I'm doing now. This is the class's syllabus, and there is one for each of you, I counted them. If there's any left over, then I will have to actually do role call, but for now, this works."

"At the top of the syllabus, you'll notice we're doing The Canterbury Tales and The Epic of Gilgamesh. One of these things is not British, it's ancient Sumerian. However, Gilgamesh is widely regarded as the oldest recorded text, and I think it's important to appreciate the old before you can appreciate the new. I mean it, after reading Gilgamesh, you will appreciate Twilight on a whole new level that you never expected possible."

"The same goes for the Canterbury Tales. I've chosen the version written in Middle English just so you can get the full experience of it, and you will find that though not many of the words are particularly complicated, it'll feel like you're reading a whole 'nother language."

He paused, looking at the class meaningfully. "This is what it feels like for adults trying to read your text speak, by the way. So if I catch any of it in my class, I will make you read sections of the Canterbury Tales again as homework, along with write an essay on the importance of unified language, okay?"

"Now, any questions before we start?"

Even though he had a desk in his own classroom as a personal workspace, Ritsu found that he preferred the library and often wandered there after class with his things. Being surrounded by books was more calming than empty seats, and he felt more comfortable in such a place. Finding an empty table, he placed his belongings down and began slowly walking the aisles. It wasn't a bad idea to look for class materials this way, he felt, even though his lesson plans should last for a good long while. But he didn't want to be so inflexible that he wouldn't change them up if another opportunity came along.

That's right; that's why he should keep looking and keep re-analyzing his choices. The first draft is never going to be the best one, after all. He was still new to teaching, and therefore he should try to keep an open mind about his choices. So, after taking some time to browse the selection, he brought a few books back to his table and pulled out his lesson plans to compare.

It didn't take long before he was marking up his own papers.

Hopefully everyone read Kiyoshi's email. He was really hoping someone would bring drinks and plates, and other useful items. Kiyoshi spent all his party-money of the cakes he ordered from the bakery.

A buffet table was sitting in front of the teacher's desk, and on top were two large plates. One having a pile of mille-feuilles, and another having small tarts. when Kiyoshi walked into his classroom, he also saw some drinks, paper plates, napkins, utensils, and a few more snacks. His students read the email! He couldn't be happier!

Class wasn't starting for a while, however. Kiyoshi made his preparations at his desk. Anyone was welcome to come bother him. Just don't touch the sweets yet! Especially if you aren't a student in his class.

Blaine had settled into his dorm and was feeling a little curious and adventurous. Mostly, he didn't want to end up crammed in his dorm room listening to music all day.

He found himself wandering around a bit, just to get a lay of the land of the school, to know the general direction of everything. Knowing where he was going would help if this was going to be his new home.

Blaine managed to hide any nervousness he might have been feeling behind a picture of perfection. His hair was expertly maintained, his clothing carefully cleaned and ironed. As he walked around, taking in the grounds around the school, he was careful not to seem too excited.

He was eager to get the school year started, eager to be in a safe environment, but he didn't want to seem too much like a spazz. He could save that for the stage.

When passing through the mathematical wing, you may notice that the doorway to a room simply labeled "Calculus" (and with some room number here because I'm uncreative), unlike all of the others in the hall, is wide open. It is relatively quiet in there, almost deceivingly empty yet should the curious soul look inside they will find that this is not the case. Sitting at the teacher's desk is a man, stiff and professional in his demeanor as he works, either hunched over some paperwork or typing away at his computer. One can only assume that this is the classroom's designated teacher.

A quick observation will find that the classroom is almost completely devoid of any decoration whatsoever. Any person from the homeland will actually be able to recognize that the setup is very much similar to that of a Japanese classroom. The desks are evenly lined in multiple rows, the walls are stark clean, with only school-installed tackboards with a couple of papers (classroom rules, tardy sheet, a flyer here and there) being the only thing differentiating the classroom from a prison. A stark clean white board (supposedly this is what it is) is hung behind the man, with a projector hung just a few feet away from it.

A rather boring room for a rather strict teacher... to anyone who happens to have Calculus: Welcome to Hell.

Any passersby are more than welcome to intrude should they have an inquiry. Those who only enter just to mess with him are slightly more unwelcome. Just be sure to note that it is very likely that the teacher at the desk has noticed you, whether he made a move to assert as such or not.

「 Anyone wandering about the place should come across this senior making his way around campus, running from clubs to the library and generally being quite the busy one.  It's his final year at North Feldman after all, and he's got a lot of extra-curriculars to attend to.

Students and faculty alike will either find him A:  wandering the hallways and bearing an easy smile for anyone he comes across—a good chance for you freshmen to ask for directions or just for anyone to chat him up in general;

B:  leaving his dorm room while carrying his set of bow and arrows and other gear for training at the archery club;

C:  wandering somewhere outside with star charts, astronomy textbooks, and a telescope in tow during the late afternoon and early evening for an outdoor session with the astronomy club—everyone's encouraged to come and join in the stargazing!

and lastly D:  he'll be walking up to your character at the library and kneeling down to pick up the book your character just dropped and looking at the title, 」

Ah, I don't believe I've read this one yet. Is it any good?

David hadn't had much to move into his room, really. Most of his things had to fit into what luggage he could take on the plane with him, though he'd had a few boxes shipped ahead. He'd taken a break from moving in to look around the school a bit, and when he came back he decided it was probably best to get things unpacked as much as he could before there were too many things going on for him to concentrate on it.

So there's a small, English boy digging through boxes in his room with the door open, iPod cycling through Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall as he sings along.

"Bonjour, mes étudiants!" A youthful looking man walked into his empty classroom.

...Hmmm, that didn't feel right.

"Helllooooo, kids!" A youthful looking man sidestepped into the class with jazz hands.

....Nope. Not feeling it like this either.

"♪~Good morning, Good mooorning!~♪" A youthful looking man sang as he Russian kick danced into the-okay now that one was just ridiculous.

With a groan, he stomped his foot onto the classroom floor, showing frustration as he walked over to his desk at the front. He was planning his epic entrance during his first day of teaching, but he just couldn't figure out the perfect one. Maybe it wasn't him? Maybe it was just first-time nervousness, kind of like when he's about to sleep with a virgin for the first time.

....Good times.

But anyways, could it really be because he was nervous? No, that couldn't be it. This was Fujisawa Kiyoshi! He worked with sharp objects and hot irons for a living (aside teaching of course), there was no way he could be nervous!

[ooc: sorry for disappearing suddenly. ;; stuff came up. I should start to get back on track now.]

Sitting in the British Literature classroom was a man who could have been mistaken for a student. Though he was sitting at the teacher's desk, he had his sneakered feet propped up on it, crossed at the ankles as he boredly sifting through a stack of papers. His dark gray pants were baggy, and covered in zippers and pockets, and he wore a white t-shirt with the sleeves ripped off, an assortment of vividly colored paint streaks covering it. Occasionally, he'd reach up to run a hand through the strands of dark brown hair that fell over the side of his face, brushing them behind his ear, or look up from the papers as people passed by in the halls.

Faces are made at anyone who dares to stop and peek in.
